President's Letter
Happy Birthday to DMD!
At DMD, we are starting our third year of independence – having spun off from Fiserv in late January of 2008, our 19th year as a company. When I take a moment to look back at what we have gone through as a company in the past two years, I can’t help but be proud of my team:
- 5 releases of the DataTrac suite
- 1,990 unique enhancement requests addressed
- Re-introduced DataTrac Commissions
- 15,968 support tickets opened
- 15,664 support tickets resolved
- 45 new clients engaged
- 46 former clients became active again
- 11 new job positions created
- Launched a new brand (“DMD” and DMDinc.com)
- Renamed our product line
- Launched a new website
- Moved to a new location
- Held 2 client conferences with 150 attendees
- 16 trade shows attended
- 63 articles about our impact on our clients and the industry
And the exciting part is that we are just getting started.
Our plans for 2010 include extending our reach into government forms, disclosures, service integrations, and a bunch of other things that we aren’t allowed to talk about yet.
While preparing for our annual executive strategy session (you hold those each year, too, right?) I pulled up our 2009 plan and was pleased to see how much of what we wanted to get done actually did get done. Although we didn’t get to everything we wanted to (I blame RESPA), it felt good to know that we laid out a plan of attack and executed against that plan.
Speaking of planning for the year, I have a quick favor to ask of you…
We need to finalize where we are going to spend our money on advertising this year. If you are reading this newsletter, then you represent our target market… so, I would love to know where you go to get your industry information. We put together a 60 second survey where you can check off which printed periodicals, emailed newsletters, and online sites you read. Click here to take survey.
I heard a great quote from Rita Levi-Montalcini (an Italian scientist, senator, and Nobel Prize winner) the other day:
“It’s not enough what I did in the past – there is also the future.”
Well said.
I hope your 2010 (pronounced “twenty-ten” and not “two-thousand-ten” ) proves to be more successful than you expect.
Cheers,
Rob
new product names
DMD is simplifying what we call the various modules available in the DataTrac product suite when we are talking to future clients.
DocumentTrac, launched in 2004 to enable paperless lending through its seamless electronic imaging and management of all loan documentation, will now be known as DataTrac Electronic Document Management or DataTrac EDM.
BusinessTrac, a mortgage lending pipeline metrics dashboard that in concert with DataTrac introduced small and medium-sized lenders to Fortune 1000 grade business intelligence in 2005, has become DataTrac Dashboard.
InTrac, an originator’s point-of-sale (POS) tool introduced in 2006 to provide loan officers and processors with an easy-to-use borrower-centric system, will be known as DataTrac Originator.
WebTrac, an originator portal introduced in 1996 to provide brokers and loan officers a 24x7 web presence from their lenders, will be known as DataTrac Web.
CommissionTrac, a commission engine introduced in 2005 automated every aspect of your variable compensation workload, will now be known as DataTrac Commissions.
Since it will be some time before the old “Trac” names go away altogether, clients should feel comfortable continuing to see them and refer to them when talking to support.
client conference
Each year, DMD gathers together with our clients from around the country to share ideas on how to get the most impact from our solutions in your business, and to share our product roadmap so that you know what is coming.
Feedback from attendees in the past has always been very positive – otherwise we wouldn’t hold them anymore!
We just booked the hotel for our 2010 conference, so be sure to save the date:
SAVE THE DATE!
June 9-11
ARIA Hotel, Las Vegas
Keep your eye out for agenda and registration details – coming soon.
Product tips
Managing your fee tables for the new disclosure process:
As you work through ensuring your fees transfer through DataTrac Originator to DataTrac to the Doc Prep system, ensure that the InTrac Line ID, Fee Description, and HUD numbers match. If you are using DocuTech, ensure you have a “F” code associated with each fee. There should be a unique F code with each fee.
Managing your credit in DataTrac is imperative to your delivery to investors.
Make sure that you produce your final 1003, 92900A, 1008, and 92900T with the loan approval from DataTrac. Printing those documents directly to DataTrac Electronic Document Management (EDM) will enable you to be one-step closer to a paperless environment. Instant viewing of these documents by all those involved in the process provides better service to the origination staff and ultimately the borrower.
The new 9.2 ExTrac product will be launched in January.
Those clients who are currently using our ExTrac products will be notified when the upgrade is available. Currently DMD has the following ExTrac products:
- Bank of America
- GMAC-RFConnects
- Colonial Bank
- Wells Fargo – Wachovia
- US Bank
- ViewPoint Bank
- Graystone
- MtgServ
If you are interested in these ExTracs, please contact your Account Manager.
